The Jomsom Muktinath Trek is a scenic and culturally rich journey through the heart of the Annapurna region, offering an unforgettable blend of Himalayan landscapes, sacred sites, and diverse ethnic heritage. This 14-day adventure takes you to the foothills of the mighty Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, with awe-inspiring views of Nilgiri (7,061m), Machhapuchhre (6,997m), and Annapurna I (8,091m).
The trek combines natural beauty with deep spirituality. Along the route, you’ll pass through lush rhododendron forests, pine-covered hills, and charming Gurung, Thakali, and Tibetan villages. The highlight of the trek is a visit to the sacred Muktinath Temple (3,800m)—a revered pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists.
The journey begins in Kathmandu, where you’ll explore UNESCO World Heritage Sites before driving to Pokhara. From here, the trek officially starts at Nayapul, leading through the traditional villages of Ulleri and Ghorepani. A short hike to Poon Hill (3,210m) rewards you with one of the most spectacular sunrises in the Himalayas.
As you continue, you’ll descend to Tatopani, famous for its natural hot springs, and then ascend along the Kali Gandaki Gorge—the world’s deepest gorge—toward Ghasa, Marpha, and Kagbeni, finally reaching the spiritual site of Muktinath. After exploring the temple and its peaceful surroundings, you’ll retrace your steps to Jomsom and fly back to Pokhara before returning to Kathmandu.
