Firstly, the Bhutan Cultural Tour starts with a flight from Kathmandu to Bhutan. The flight destination is Paro Airport. A short drive to the capital- Thimpu follows shortly after. On the second day, you explore the capital city and head to the numerous cultural monuments. The city is rather well-preserved despite having modern aesthetics.

On the next day, you drive from Thimpu to Trongsa Dzong which is the largest fortress in Bhutan. It is also a major monastic complex and holds around 200 monks. Next up on the trip is the tour to Bumthang. Bumthang consists of four mountain valleys called Ura, Chumey, Tang, and Choekhar. Lastly, the tour concedes at Punakha where you visit one of the most valued dzongs in the entire country. Above all, Bhutan is a wondrous nation featuring a lot of ancient architecture and culture.

Day 1:Flight from Kathmandu to Bhutan, Paro airport and drive to Thimpu

Kicking off our Bhutan Cultural tour, we make our way out of Kathmandu headed for Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan. The journey which takes about 1.15 hrs takes us through Himalayan landscapes before touching down at the Paro Airport. Taking a brief stop at the city of Paro, we head for Thimpu.

    We begin our Thimpu exploration with the stunning Memorial Chorten which is one the most famous as well as recognizable sites around the capital city. Heading away from the Chorten we visit the Tashichho Dzong located at the western banks of the Wang Chu River. With traditional Buddhist antiques adorning the halls the Dzong at present house some of the government offices. Overnight at Thimpu.

      Exiting Thimpu through the Thimpu- Tsirang Highway we begin our journey towards the east heading past several vibrant hamlets towards the Royal Botanical Park. The next stretch of the river takes us past the Puna Tsang Chu River as we follow the Dang Chu River past Pelela and to the hamlet of Chuserbu. Through the bordering forests of Jingme Singya Wangchuk National Park, we make our way to Trongsa.

        Our Trongsa exploration begins with the Trongsa Dzong which is largest Dzong of the nation. At the center of the city, the majestic fortress overlooks the gorge of Mangde River and is surrounded by forests and massive hills. Near to the Trongsa Dzong lies the Thruepung palace which was built in the 1920s by the second King. Overnight at Trongsa.

          One of the shorter days of the journey today we make our way to the town of Bimthang which is also the final destination of the trip. Setting off through Trongsa- Yotongla Highway the journey takes us through pleasant natural landscapes passing through stunning towns. Reaching the banks of the Bimthang Chu River we turn north heading starting for the town of Bimthang.

            Bimthang hosts some of the most important historical as well as cultural landmarks. First, we head to Kurjey Lhakhang which is also the final resting place of the first three Kings of Bhutan. In addition to this, Jamay Lhakhang and Tamzing Monastery are some of the other prominent sites around the city. Taking our time to enjoy the picturesque city we make our way to Punakha for the night.

              The day begins early as we make our way over to the Paro airport exiting the city of Punakha. The journey takes about 4 hours and follows the banks of Puna Tsang Chu, Paro Chu, and Thimpu Chu rivers. Reaching Paro, we prepare for our flight back home exiting the beautiful country of Bhutan. Back in Nepal, we head to the hotel where a lovely farewell dinner awaits us. Overnight at Kathmandu.

                With all the activities for the trip concluded you are free to either rest at the hotel enjoying the amenities or depart back at your own time schedules. All the transportation including the drop off to Tribhuvan International Airport will be organized by our representatives.
