Climbing Chulu East Peak (6429m) is one of the most jaw-dropping adventures and a great way to explore the Annapurna region. The climb offers mesmerizing views of the Annapurna Range, Dhaulagiri (8167m), Manaslu (8163m), Tilicho (7134m), and many more. Exposing to the diversity of the Annapurna Conservation Area, the trek through the Manang Valley is surreal. Chulu East Peak Climbing is the combination of a trekking trail along the Annapurna Massif that goes through culturally rich Tibetan villages on the way. Hence, Chulu East Peak Climbing is bound to give you an unforgettable experience for those who often dream about mountaineering.

After your arrival in Kathmandu, a long six-hour drive will take you to Ngadi via Besisahar. Witnessing stunning views of snow-capped mountains, Marshyangdi and Trishuli rivers, green hills, and culturally rich villages along the way makes up for a smooth ride. The trail goes further towards Sera and reaches the settlement of Khudi. Now, crossing Bhulbhule and Bahundanda along with subtropical forest and rice terraces, we descend towards Syange. Now, you will trek to Tal village and proceeds to Timang via Dharapani, Bagarchhap, and Danakyu. Walking along the Marshyangdi River into the beautiful pine forest crossing Chame and Talekhu, a place called the Swargadwari greets us. A steep climb over a ridge along Dhikur Pokhari paves the way to Pisang. The Tibetan and Buddhist culture with a stunning diversity of flora and fauna reflects the importance of this region. The trail passes through Ngawal Village and proceeds to Chulu East Base Camp. Along the way, you will witness the sublime view of Annapurna Range, Gangapurna (7454m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), Tilicho (7134m), and Mt. Manaslu (8163m). Now, we will climb uphill toward High Camp (5330m). After observing the stunning view of the Annapurna massif from the summit of the Chulu East Peak (6429m), we will return to base camp. Finally, crossing over the villages of Humde and Chame, you will reach Besisahar. It is a moderate trekking journey that is done during the month of March to June and September to December.

Day 1:Arrival to Kathmandu

You may arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport at any time. After landing at TIA, you will be warmly welcomed by one of our staff member and immediately transferred to your respective hotel. For the rest of the day, you can stay at the hotel or explore the nearby areas. Overnight in Kathmandu.

  • Maximum Altitude1300m

Today is scheduled for climbing preparation. After breakfast, a lesson will be conducted about the use of tools and equipment required for the climb. Such tools includes crampons, harness ice axe, camping tents and many more. You will also learn to handle climbing ropes and to tie knots. The professionals will conduct such lessons. In the evening, you can roam around the Thamel area and enjoy its nightlife. Overnight in Kathmandu.

    Early in the morning, you will start your drive towards Ngadi. A long nine-hour drive will take you through the mid-hill regions along with a breathtaking view of snow-capped mountain peaks. Along the way, Marshyangdi and Trishuli Rivers will accompany you on the drive. Getting familiar with the Nepalese culture and tradition, you will reach Besisahar. Finally, you will reach Ngadi crossing several farm villages. Overnight in Ngadi.

    • Maximum Altitude760m

    Today is the first day of your trek. Soon after breakfast, you will trek towards Syange leaving Ngadi behind. As you move past-forested area and rice terraces, a pleasant view of Himalayas appears at the distance. Along the way, you will cross the settlements such as Khudi and Bhulbhule. Enjoying a diverse array of flora and fauna of this region, you will finally reach Syange via Ghermu. Overnight in Syange.

    • Maximum Altitude1100m

    Crossing numerous bridges along with Marshyangdi River on the edge, you will descend through rice terraces and waterfall near Jagat. The trail further move towards the lush vegetation and small forest of pine where it is peaceful to walk through, to the beautiful town of Chamje. After crossing Sattale on the way, you will finally reach the settlement of Tal along with rocky cliff, green pasture, dense forest, and thriving ethnic villages. Overnight in Tal.

    • Maximum Altitude1700m

    After breakfast, crossing Dharapani, we march forward along with Marshyangdi River. While the trail goes upward through the Gurung and Tibetan settlement up to Bagarchhap and Danakyu, a stunning view of Mt. Himlung (7126m) seen from Dudh Khola seems to disappear slowly. Witnessing the majestic view of Mt. Manaslu (8163m) and Annapurna II (7937m), you will arrive in Timang. Overnight in Timang.

    • Maximum Altitude2270m

    Walking past Chame, we now move forward along with rhododendron forest to the village of Talekhu and Bhratang. Crossing numerous suspension bridges, you will march towards the rocky path and thick forest of blue pine, which leads the way to Swargadwari, often called as the gateway of heaven. A steep climb on the top of the ridge through Dhikur Pokhari finally paves the way to the settlement of Pisang. Overnight in Pisang.

    • Maximum Altitude3300m

    Soon after breakfast, you will start our trek to Ngawal Village. Walking past airstrip at Humde, you will drop down to lower Pisang. The trail give you the pleasure of experiencing Gurung and Tibetan culture along with the view of flat-roofed houses, old monasteries, and Mani walls before reaching Ghyaru. Now, with the sublime view of Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Annapurna III (7555m), and Gangapurna (7454m), you will reach Ngawal Village. Overnight in Ngawal.

    • Maximum Altitude3660m

    Today, we hike towards the Chulu East Basecamp leaving Annapurna round trek. It is a five to six hour trek from Ngawal village. Trekking through the villages of Munchi and Braga, you will march towards Manang. Moving forward, stunning view of Annapurna Range, and Tilicho (7134m) and many more become clearer. Walking along the stony and rocky path, you will ascent to the top of the ridge crossing the sparsely forested trail that leads to Chulu East Base Camp, which stands tall with the altitude of 4400m from the sea level. Overnight in Chulu East Base Camp.

    • Maximum Altitude4400m

    From Chulu East Basecamp, you will now march north towards High Camp. The trail forward gives a glorious view of Annapurna II (7937m), Chulu East Peak (6429m), Chulu West Peak (6419m), and many other snow-capped mountains. Walking on a stone paved and zigzag path along with the alpine natural vegetation, a steep climb to High Camp would be worth remembering. Once at high camp, you will spend the night in the tented camp and plan about the climb next day. Overnight in High Camp.

    • Maximum Altitude5330m

    Today is the climbing day. From High Camp, you will ascent to Summit starting in pre-dawn. Along the way, the sublime view of snow-capped mountains in the Annapurna, Thorung, and Nilgiri ranges greet us. A steep climb to the top of the ridge and passing over huge rocks along with the serene beauty of nature itself, you will finally reach to the summit of Chulu East Peak (6429m). From there, you can enjoy the magnificent view of Annapurna massif and incredible Himlung Valley. Now, you will return to base camp and spend the night.

    • Maximum Altitude6059m

    After breakfast, you will trek from base camp to Humde village following back the same trail downward. The trail passes through the forest of pine and rhododendron that offers the glorious view of Annapurna Range and Pisang peak (6091m). Now, dropping further down to Julu Khola, you will march towards the settlement of Humde, which is a small village in Manang region. It is a four to five hour trek and you will even get a chance to observe the unique Tibetan culture and tradition once you reach Humde. Overnight in Humde.

    • Maximum Altitude3280m

    Early in the morning, walking past the village of Pisang, you will move towards the Buddhist villages of Bhratang and Talekhu through Swargadwari. Now, crossing various wooden bridges and enjoying the views of Annapurna II (7937m), Manaslu (8163m), and Larkya La Pass (5160m), you will reach the settlement of Chame, which acts as an entrance gate to Manang region. Overnight in Chame.

    • Maximum Altitude2670m

    After breakfast, we further descent to Dharapani and move towards Karte and then Tal village. Walking along with beautiful waterfalls and crossing suspension bridges, you will reach Chamje. Now, the trail passes to Bahundanda and proceeds to Bhulbhule. Along the way, you will walk past subtropical forests and rice terraces of Khudi and Sera. Finally, being familiar with the culture of rural Nepal, you will arrive at Besisahar. Overnight in Besisahar.

    • Maximum Altitude760m

    After breakfast, a long drive of about six hours will take you to Kathmandu via Nga Di. The drive will take you past mid-hill regions with the glorious view of stunning mountain peaks, Marshyangdi and Trishuli River, culturally rich villages and many more. Once in the capital, you will be transferred to your hotel for the night. You can even roam around Thamel, buy souvenir and enjoy its nightlife. Overnight in Kathmandu.

      We will drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport so that you can catch your scheduled flight back home. Approximately three hours before your scheduled flight, you will be dropped off and you can share your experience with us on the way to airport.
