Kathmandu Rara Motorcycle Tour is a unique adventure that entails riding through a diverse array of landscapes. The tour offers incredible serenity while, further in the background, is the distant view of the majestic mountains. The tour settles at Rara Lake within the Rara National Park. The lake is beautiful, but the route to the lake offers a different experience in itself. The various settlements display the mountainous lifestyle while the rough and challenging terrain makes for a thrilling and exciting ride.
The Kathmandu-Rara-Kathmandu Motorcycle Tour is 10 days long and it begins with your arrival in Kathmandu. On the second day, you leave the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu as you enter the hilly switchbacks. As you snake along the Prithvi Highway alongside Trishuli River, the road eventually splits and you move south into the Terai region towards Butwal. The flat roads in Terai go through fields of mustards and paddies. It is along these level roads you have a comfortable ride soaking in the surroundings to Butwal. From Butwal, the trail continues through forested areas with settlements becoming smaller until you arrive in Surkhet. From Surkhet, it’s a climb back into the hills and higher to the beautiful valley of Sinja a tough but rewarding journey. Next, you will push on to the Rara National Park checkpoint and leave your bikes behind and start trekking inside the national park to reach Rara Lake. You will spend two days in Rara. The first day is just for you to relax and rest from the long ride. On the second day, we explore and make our way to the viewpoint at Murma, about 3 hours of hiking. On the way back, we take a slightly diverted route and ride through Khalanga Bazaar in Jumla and then to Surkhet the next day. You are then back on the flat highways that take you back to Kathmandu through Chitwan.
