Overview

Nepal is not only filled with a plethora of natural landmarks, but it also boasts countless pilgrimage sites. This Pilgrimage Tour for 9 days shall take you on a spiritual journey and awakening as it takes you to the divine hubs of Gorkha, Kathmandu, and Muktinath. These pilgrimage sites are major destinations for Buddhists and Hindus in Nepal. Enjoy some peaceful time as you explore temples and stupas full of spiritualism, architectural beauty, and faith.

The Pilgrimage Tour commences with your arrival in Kathmandu Valley. In Kathmandu, we head to Budhanilkantha Temple and the major UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, and Boudhanath. Pashupatinath is home to Lord Shiva and in Shivaratri, we get thousands of pilgrims here. Boudhanath and Swoyambhunath are dedicated to Lord Buddha where the monks and worshippers are immersed in the religious rituals. 

The next day, we shall drive all the way to Kurintar and get on a cable car to reach the holy temple of Manakamana, dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati. From here, we shall head to Pokhara and take a quick stroll around Lakeside. The next day, we will go to Muktinath on a drive along the Kali Gandaki River. Passing Jomsom on the way, we officially enter the lower Mustang region and traverse the barren lands that lead to the Muktinath Temple.

Bathe in the holy 108 taps and pray to Lord Vishnu at the Muktinath Temple. We drive back to Pokhara via Jomsom, and at Pokhara, we will visit the religious sites of Tal Barahi, Bindhyabasini, and Gupteshwor Cave. Thereafter, we take a hike to the World Peace Pagoda which offers enchanting views of the Himalayas in the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges including Mt. Machhapuchhre (6997m). We head back to Kathmandu where this 9-day Pilgrimage Tour shall end.

Day 1:Kathmandu Arrival

Once you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our company representative will meet you in the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Along the way, he shall brief you about the contents of the trip and the other major aspects concerning it. In the evening, you can explore around the city as there are no scheduled activities today. Overnight in Kathmandu.

The motive for the day is to explore the major UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu Valley which are also famous pilgrimage sites. We shall visit Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath and Boudhanath. These are highly revered Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage sites. We shall visit Budhanilkantha temple where we can observe the sleeping statue of lord Vishnu. We then visit the architectural marvels of the Kathmandu Durbar Square and and the sprawling street market.

    Today, we head to Kurintar on a 3-hour drive that goes through the serpentine Prithvi Highway. We get on a cable car and visit the holy Manakamana Temple, located on a hill top in Gorkha. The temple is dedicated to Lord Bhagwati and is a sacred place for Hindus. Afterwards, we drive to Pokhara which is 3 hours away from the temple. Upon your arrival, you can take a quick stroll around Lakeside. Overnight in Pokhara.

    Leaving Pokhara, we head towards the highest temple, Muktinath. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and you can see many followers and devotees there. The drive takes about 7 hours and en route, we shall stop at Jomsom where we can purchase local apples. From Jomsom, we follow the Kali Gandaki River and cross it to head northeast towards Muktinath. You can explore the temple vicinity, and learn about its history and religious significance. Overnight in Muktinath.

    • Maximum Altitude3710m

    Wake up early to witness the morning Puja in the Muktinath Temple. After exploring Muktinath, we embark on a journey back to Pokhara. The drive takes us back from the desolation of Mustang to the lush green trails at Beni. Have lunch in Beni, and then find yourself back on the road to Pokhara. Upon arrival in Pokhara, transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Pokhara.

      Today, we will head out to visit the famous pilgrimage sites in Pokhara. We visit the Tal Barahi Temple which sits in the middle of the Phewa Lake. Next, we visit the Bindhyabasini Temple which is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Durga. We shall take a quick stroll around Gupteshwor Cave which houses the Gupteshwor Mahadev. After visiting these sites, we head back to our hotel for the night.

        Today is reserved as a rest day but you can choose do whatever you want. There is much to explore in Pokhara Valley. You can visit Sarangkot Hill station and enjoy the view of the Pokhara Valley and the Annapurna ranges. Do some souvenir shopping in Pokhara and if you have time, visit World Peace Pagoda, Davis Falls, and Bat Cave as well. Overnight in Pokhara.

          The trip has come to an end. We drive from Pokhara back to Kathmandu enjoying the view of lush hills, rivers and highway towns for the last time. The entire journey lasts about 6 hours and after arriving in Kathmandu, you can do some last minute shopping or go souvenir shopping in Thamel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

            Today is your final day in Nepal and our company representative will drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport for your final departure. Goodbye and Thanks!
