Explore the remote beauty of Manang Valley on the Kathmandu–Manang–Kathmandu Motorcycle Tour, a thrilling 10-day journey through the heart of the Annapurna region. Nestled in the Marshyangdi River Valley, Manang offers rugged trails, breathtaking landscapes, and the serenity of traditional Buddhist villages.

The major highlight of this tour is Tilicho Lake, the highest lake in Nepal. Surrounded by glaciers and peaks like Tilicho Peak (7134m), Gangapurna (7454m), and Annapurna III (7555m), the lake provides awe-inspiring vistas for adventure enthusiasts and photographers alike.

The journey begins in Kathmandu, where participants will check motorcycles and acquire essential gear. Ride 104km west to Besisahar, then follow the rocky motorable path to Chame and onwards into Manang Valley. Explore the unique Tibetan Buddhist culture, visiting monasteries and observing local traditions. Continue 20km deeper into the valley to Tilicho Lake Base Camp, then trek to the serene Tilicho Lake. Descend via Khangsar and return along the motorable route through Timang back to Besisahar, concluding the tour in Kathmandu.

This adventure combines motorcycling, trekking, and cultural exploration, making it perfect for thrill-seekers and nature lovers. The tour is available year-round, except during the monsoon season. Experienced guides, support vehicles, and excellent logistics ensure a safe and memorable journey into the north of the Annapurna massif.

Day 1:Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will warmly receive you at the airport and bring you to your hotel. You’ll meet your tour guide and visit the vehicle retailer to assess the motorcycle for the tour. You can visit the nearest market to purchase any needed gear, equipment, or accessories. Overnight in Kathmandu.

After an early breakfast, you’ll get on your motorcycle and embark on a scenic road journey through the serpentine Prithvi Highway. You’ll drive the 106km stretch of scenic road along Trishuli River passing swirling hills, large gorges, and highway towns to arrive at Besisahar. A small town, Besisahar of Lamjung District serves as the gateway to the Annapurna circuit trail. Overnight in Besisahar.

    Leaving Besisahar, you’ll embark on a journey north to the scenic village of Chame. It may take only a few hours to drive along the Marshyangdi River to Chame. The road is uphill, and has some narrow and steep turns but, the view of the river, mountains, waterfalls, hills and small settlements will make it quite enjoyable. Chame serves as the headquarters of Manang district. The small village also offers a pristine sight of the nearby Lamjung Himal (6983m). Overnight in Chame.

      From Chame, the trail gradually ascends through the rocky road towards Lower Pisang. You’ll drive past the villages of Talekhu, Bhratang, and Dhikur Pokhari before reaching Lower Pisang. From here, you’ll drive to Upper Pisang village. After a brief rest, you’ll continue the journey and drive through Ngawal, Ghyaru, Humde, and Braga village en route to Manang. The beautiful Annapurna massif will be visible to the south. Overnight in Manang.

        You’ll drive along Marshyangdi River and cross a suspension bridge over to reach Jarsang Khola. After a short drive, you’ll reach Khangsar village where you’ll find a small but beautiful monastery, Chorten, Mani walls, and prayer flags. From Khangsar, the trail climbs steeply past a Gompa and head towards the top of a ridge (4650m) with prayer flags. After a short drive from here, you’ll reach Tilicho Base Camp. Overnight in camp.

          The only way to reach Tilicho Lake is walking. The trail leads onto a moraine after a long climb to 4710m. From here, you can catch the outstanding view of Tarkeghyang, Gangapurna, and Khangsar Kang. After a short trek, you’ll reach Tilicho Lake (4920m), highest lake in Nepal, and it presents a beautiful scene with its turquoise water and mountains like Tilicho Peak (7134m), Gangapurna (7454m), and Annapurna III (7555m). Afterward, you’ll head down to the base camp and drive back to Khangsar.

            Leaving Khangsar, you’ll drive through Manang and Chame to reach Timang village. As you’ll cover more distance descending, you’ll easily reach Timang lying just below Lower Pisang village. Although the ride goes along bumpy tracks, it will be enjoyable as you retrace through hills and small settlements along the Marshyangdi River. Overnight in Timang.

              Leaving Timang, you’ll drive back to Besisahar today. You’ll drive through the motorable road and cross Tal, Syange, and Ngadi villages to arrive at Besisahar. The ride will head south as you continue to ride along the Marshyangdi River. You make a final stop at Besisahar and rest before heading back to Kathmandu. Overnight in Besisahar.

                Today, you’ll leave Besisahar and drive back to Kathmandu. Bidding farewell to Lamjung district, you’ll drive through the serpentine roads of central Nepal to reach Kathmandu. Once in Kathmandu, you’ll be escorted to your hotel. In the evening, your tour guide will take your for a lavish farewell dinner in one of the finest diners in Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu.

                  We’ll drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport so you can catch your scheduled flight back home. Our representative will take you to the airport approximately 2 hours early.
