Overview

Champadevi Hill, standing at 2285 meters southwest of Kathmandu, is a prominent pilgrimage site for both Hindu and Buddhist followers. It is perfect for one-day hikes and ideal for travelers with limited time who want to experience Nepal’s lush landscapes without venturing far from the capital.

The hike starts with a drive from Thamel to Bhanjyang, from where the trail winds through forested paths near Hattiban Resort. Along the way, hikers enjoy the sights of local wildlife and vibrant pine forests. The climb to the summit takes approximately 2–3 hours.

From the hilltop, enjoy panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley, surrounding hills, and distant mountain ranges. The descent follows a scenic trail back to Bhanjyang, ending with a drive to Thamel.

Champadevi is accessible year-round, though it’s best to avoid the monsoon season due to slippery trails.
